Thirteen years ago I bought this Jeep from an owner of MCE Fenders. He had previously stretched the wheel base by 15" to fit an Unlimited soft top. Axles were beefed-up and a Clayton long arm was installed. It rode in this configuration for many years, making 2000 mile round-trips to Moab many times.
I have recently updated wheels and tires, swapped steering knuckles for a Big Brake kit and installed a Currie RJ44 front axle. Previously we added a Gobi rack and used the TJ-6 for camping and exploring. I have updated the shocks, added lower gearing and changed the lighting throughout. The Currie Currectlync has been rebuilt, along with the front track bar to maintain great road handling as well as off road driving. Control arm and shock mounts have been reinforced or boxed.
The TJ-6 was driven daily to work for 8 years, and enjoyed on weekends for exploring. While I can't weld or fab, I try to do all the maintenance and upgrades myself. Three years ago a Golen 4.6 Stroker was built and installed 280hp and 322ftlb at flywheel.
