My dad and I revived a 1974 CJ-5 from being a beat-up farm Jeep in Ohio. We started when I was 17 and I purchased it for only $650. It had a blown front axle that we swapped out and some carburetor issues which we fixed. After that, the 304 V8 pulled that thing wherever you pointed the steering wheel.
Dad sadly departed this Earth surprisingly at the end of 2010. By this time I was living in Colorado with the CJ-5 in my sister’s hands, and driving a 1995 Grand Cherokee. Mom distributed Dad’s financials and left me with a good downpayment for my JK. I always think of Dad when I drive my Jeep, and I know he would have absolutely loved it.
