I’ve owned my ‘99 TJ since 2014, and have dreamed of it being a diesel powered LJ since 2015. After years old collecting parts, armor, axles, an LJ tub/frame, & 4bt motor, we made the swap happen. Then life got busy, so we got some help from TrailHunters Miami to complete it. It’s slow, it’s loud, it shakes.. it’s pure joy on wheels.
This is my 2nd Jeep, now on its 2nd build (Cummins swap, tons, etc.). I started with a partially parted out Jeep in 2014, that was missing everything from seats to brake rotors. It took 11 months of gathering parts, an axle swap, and bodywork before getting on (and off) the road. One evening while washing the grease off of my hands, the name Knucklebuster came to mind. It’s been history since!
