What started as an idea for a simple LJ build on 37s, turned into a full build over the last 4 years. I started with the idea of running JK rubicon axles, but in the middle of the swap it made more sense to build a set of tons instead. 37s became 38s, 38s became 40s, 40s became 43s, and finally I found the sweet spot with the release of the Baja Boss in a true 42" tire. From there, I decided I wanted to build this with the new Rock Krawler X2 suspension and be able to run any trail in the country. As it sits, Project Throwdown as I have dubbed it, sits at 112" wheelbase with 26" of belly clearance and 5" of up travel on 42s while still easily fitting in a normal garage.
